Leif Ove Andsnes speaks about Sibelius’ most famous piece the “Valse Triste” of which the Finnish composer made a piano arrangement. The new album “Sibelius” will be released September 1, 2017
You can get your copy here:

“Musically, I will be championing the music of Sibelius this year. I’m really passionate about his piano music, which is so beautiful and haunting. How can there be a major composer out there with such accessible music that people don’t know. The fact that many will be hearing it for the first time, that’s a wonderful feeling. I’m on a real mission with this!” – Leif Ove Andsnes

Leif Ove Andsnes – Mozart: Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K. 466 – II. Romance

Piano for beginners No Comments »

Leif Ove Andsnes performs “Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K. 466 – II. Romanze”.
Listen to the Mozart Momentum – 1785 here:

In 1785 and 1786, Mozart wrote a series of masterpieces reinventing the nature of the piano concerto. In this period, he began to re-examine the roles of the soloist and the orchestra, developing aspects of communication and dialogue between the two entities in a way that had not been heard before. Mozart Momentum 1785 is the first of two releases exploring those especially remarkable years in the history of classical music.
Following three cancelled tours, Leif Ove Andsnes and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra were finally able to meet and record the first album for this new project in November 2020. Although Covid restrictions meant that they had to record with social distancing measures in place and without audience, the experience of performing together again in the Berlin Philharmonie was very special. In interview with Gramophone Magazine, Leif Ove Andsnes said “I would quarantine for a hundred days to be able to do this project! I’ve learnt to really appreciate being in this kind of space – with a good piano, and with great musicians around me. I never realised how lucky I was. Now every project is a gift.’

A little about me:

Sean Daniel is a man. A man of simple needs and desires. And the one desire, no, the one NEED, that stands above all is to spread the challenges, joy and intellectual stimulus of music to people of Earth and beyond.
Born on the mean streets of upper middle class suburban Chicago, Sean learned the ways of the world through the dizzying heights of success to the lonesome depths of failure and emerged with the promise of a better tomorrow reflecting in his eyes and fiery passion in his belly.
He plays and teaches guitar on his YouTube channel where he regularly releases original music and projects to the adulation of legions of fans, who often compare him to Chris Pratt and one time Ryan Reynolds. He’s currently in the market for a nice leather jacket.
